The firefighter told dispatch that he was in "bad shape" after his fire truck rolled off of a small bridge and into a creek.

A fire truck in Pendleton County, KY, rolled off of a small bridge and into a creek near KY-177 and KY-3185.

Kentucky State Police who responded to the scene said told WCPO 9 that it appears that a firefighter was responding to a call when they were unable to navigate a left turn onto westbound KY-177.

The Northern Pendleton Fire District firefighter, who was flown to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center via AirCare, reportedly contacted dispatch and told them he was in "bad shape" after the crash.

He contacted dispatch to alert them to the crash at around 7:41 a.m.; Kentucky State Police said he was finally extracted from the truck at around 8:11 a.m.

WCPO 9 reports that officials at the scene said it appears the brakes on the fire truck went out at some point while the driver was on a hill.

No one else was in the fire truck with him when the crash happened.
